Rob Englehardt is an award-winning producer and director of photography with more than 20 years experience in the entertainment industry.
In 2013, Rob shot the following projects:
• Hatfields & McCoys: White Lightning, History reality series, 15 weeks
..on location in West Virginia.
• Salvage City, Discovery reality series, 12 weeks on location in St. Louis.
• Marriage Bootcamp, WE reality series, 3 weeks traveling across the US.
• American Heavy Metal, History reality pilot, 1 week on location in St. Louis.
• Cinch Jeans commercial, 1 week on location in San Antonio.
As president and co-owner of Kaos Entertainment from 1996-2010, Rob produced, directed and shot more than 400 hours of television programming. During the past 20 years, he has mastered literally every job involved in making non-fiction films. He has traveled to each continent except Antarctica and has shot in more than 100 countries. He launched his career as an editor and writer, and quickly moved on to producing, directing and shooting. His adventures include: testing shark proof suits in the Caribbean; following a photo journalist through war-torn Sarajevo; trekking to observe gorillas with the Ugandan president and searching for drug lords with DEA agents in Peru. His work has appeared on National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, FOX, WE, Travel Channel, Discovery HD Theater and History Channel.
He is experienced with a wide variety of high-definition cameras including most Sony, Red, Panasonic and Canons. Most recently, he has been using the Canon C-300. He is well versed in aerial, time-lapse, night vision and underwater cinematography. He also is an expert at mounting gopros to speeding machinery. He owns his own lighting package and Canon 7D with multiple lenses.
Rob attained a Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography at the American Film Institute and earned his Bachelor of Arts at Stanford University where he also was a four-year letterman on the football team.
He is an avid mountain biker and Nordic skier. He currently lives on a farm in Bellevue, Idaho with his wife and two sons, along with a dog, 3 cats, 3 pigs, 5 cows, 2 horses, 3 ducks and over 200 chickens.
